Hi,

I created a excel spreadsheet and saved it in 'cvs' format and uploaded to my calendar.

I went to update the spreadsheet in order to update the calender but it wouldn't work and now I would really like to delete it but I do not know how.

Please help.

Thanks,

Outlook 2013: Draft emails show no date

OK, maybe I shouldn't have 200 draft emails, but I do and they were always dated in previous versions. With my recent 2013 installation, draft emails are not dated - insted they show "none" in the date field.  The crucial need has passed as I found the drafts I need at the bottom of the list, but is there a way to force a date on a draft? (Win 7; Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013) Thanks.

Creating Search Folders in Outlook specific to a folder and its subfolders

I am trying to find a way to create a search folder that is specific to a folder AND its subfolders. The subfolders frequently change and I do not want to add the names of each subfolder specifically but would like to have the search automatically show the named folder and its subfolders.

I know how to create the customized search  to point to the main folder...does anyone know a way I can have this search include subfolders WITHOUT having to name each one in the search parameters.

Any ideas?

Outlook 2007 sync problem with pop3 mail server - some emails not downloading/syncing

I can login and see my emails on the server on which they are stored. It is easier to manage and answer email using Outlook so I download  the emails to Outlook and manage them there. I am finding a few emails, important ones, that don't download to Outlook. I say that they don't download because a search of all mail items does not find them, and I haven't deleted them nor are they in the Junk folder.

I tried googling sync problems and can find information on .ost files if outlook is synced with Exchange, but nothing about sync problems with a simple pop3 email account.

How do I get Outlook 2007 to download/sync with all the mail on the server?

Office 2013 - Can't sort inbox by categories or read/unread feature does not work

We recently upgraded to Office 2013 at work.  I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out why my inbox would not show my messages as read.  I finally put in a ticket with our techs and they told me that I can not sort by inbox by the category field because this causes the read/unread feature not to work.  Sure enough, if I sort by any other field it works fine but the minute I try to sort by categories, it does not work.  This is extremely frustrating as I use the category field a lot!  Is there some other fix for this issue I can try?

kb2956128 causing Outlook 2010 to fail.

This update has caused most users' Outlook to fail at a company. Had to uninstall it and hide it. They have Prolaw add-in and Shoretel Add-in. Not sure exactly what causes this but Outlook fails and closes. Sometimes in 30 seconds or more.

Office 2010 Professional - Removing Attachments

My office recently upgraded to Windows 7 and Office 2010, previously we had XP and Office 2003.  After successfully sending an e-mail with attachment, I need to remove the attachment from the e-mail.  If the e-mail is embedded in the e-mail and not on a separate subject line I have not been able to figure how to delete it.  This was really easy to do in XP, you would just right click on the attachment and a "clear" option appeared.  I am determined to find a way to remove the attachment or have my system set up to automatically have the attachment appear in a separate subject vs. being embedded.

Thank you so much any help you can offer me :-)

Increase the number of items visible in the New Item Alert window

I've been using Outlook since the late '90s and seen (and generally) liked all the new and improved features since then, but am surprised that the New Item Alert (or New Mail Alerts) window that opens when an incoming message fits one of my rules is so small, allowing only three items to be seen (though many more can be found be scrolling).

I'd very much like to be able to see more than three items without scrolling.

I haven't found any option or setting in Outlook or Office (any version; I'm currently using Office 2013) to enlarge that window.

Is there anything that will enlarge it?

Thanks for any info on this.

Outlook's 'View in Browser" is hiding content from my mailout

Creating an email newsletter, I've added 3 articles into the News section. They show up fine in every other browser I've tested, and if I copy it into the URL of Internet Exploreer, however, if I use Outlook's "View in Browser' button, it seems to render a local version of the mailout (ie. not a public URL, but actually something that reads C:\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\SX5ZU6L9\email.mht

Problem with outlook.com and outlook 2010 synchronizing tasks

Anyone have a solution?

1) I have Outlook Connector 14.0.6123.5001 installed on a Win7 ultimate w/ office 2010.

2) I can add appointments and events to my outlook.com from the above machine via outllook 2010 (and thus propogates to my phone).

3) Problem: tasks added on web interface of outlook.com will propogate to phone, but will not be visible on laptop (ref 1 above) in outlook 2010.  Also tasks added w/in the outlook 2010 do not make it outllook.com or phone.

4) I have same issue with 2 laptops loaded with win 7 and office 2010)

5) However on spouse's win 8 office 2013 (no "connector" needed) box,  works like a charm (eg can "see" both ways and full propogation to all interfaces - web, phone, outlook 2013.  All ubitquitous)

Noted oddity is that the in outlook 2010 the folder is labeled "Tasks (This Computer Only)" but the properties dialog indicates (correctly I assume) a path or location of \\*** Email address is removed for privacy *** exactly as the calendar folder properties appear (calender doesn't have the "this computer only" label)

I have no pst configured just the ost automatically generated by outlook 2010.

Please help if you can, everything I have found seems to indicate this should be working just fine.

It seems that calendar and tasks are in old(inactive ac),... is any way transfer in new active account - so I have only one pst file to backup - in case?

Outlook not receiving any emails forwarded to me

I am using Outlook 2003 (yes, it's old but I love it) at work and my work email is set up to run through it.  We have our email through GoDaddy.com and my account in Outlook is using POP3.

Everything was fine until 2 days ago when I stopped being able to receive messages that were forwarded to me.

I have been sent forwarded messages from another private email and several from Gmail, none of which come through.  Direct mail from anywhere has no trouble.

What happened and how can this get fixed?

This is my work email but we are a very small business and do not have any tech support services.  I need to get this working again ASAP but I don't know what could possibly have changed.

Changing Outlook default Calendars, Contacts

Several months ago, I bought a new laptop and installed my Office 2010 suite.  Somehow, when i set Outlook up, i messed up - it now will no longer synch with my iPhone Calendar and when I start it, it wont point to the Contact List I have used forever as a default.  It installed differently.  Where before I had a Personal Folder/Home Page out of which fell mail, contacts, etc, there is now none.

To complicate matters, because of lack of time, my email, calendar, contacts have evolved beyond what they were when i reinstalled.  It also does not appear that I could simply reinstall Outlook, but would have to do all the other components, which i have customized.

The simple questions are;

- what did I do wrong in installing Outlook on my new computer?

-can I repair it?

I am pretty certain it is the Outlook, not iPhone calendar side that is the problem, as I changed nothing on the phone app.  I don't want to upgrade to Office 360, as i spend enough time in clouds already (though it was very difficult to find out where to re-download the Office 2010 installer!  I am still an old time store everything on my own machine kinda person.

Fingers crossed - jen

Outlook 2007 Sent items saving in two folders.

I have an imap account set up on outlook and I have gone into the account settings to change the Sent Items folder. I have three total computers set up the same way with the one imap account. Two of the three work perfectly fine, meaning when I send mail it saves and syncs to the Sent Items folder under the imap account. When I send messages on the one other computer, half of the sent mail saves under the imap account sent items and the other half of my messages save under the personal folders Sent Items folder. BUT the messages that are saving under the personal folders sent items folder on this computer do show up under the sent items under the imap account on the other two computers. I have tried deleting and reconfiguring the account and reinstalling office 2007 yet it still does the same thing. I have seen the messages appear for a split second under the imap account and then disappear (or get redirected) into the personal folders sent items. I am out of ideas and any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Emails with images and pdf attachements to mobile devices

I am attempting to send an email from outlook that is being read on mobile devices.  In the email, I have uploaded both .bmp and .png images in the body of the email, and attached a PDF and/or Powerpoint file.  The images display fine when nothing is attached. However, on mobile devices, the images will not display when the PDF is attached.

Can receive mail; cannot send mail. Get this message: Task ‘*** Email address is removed for privacy *** – Sending’ reported error (0x80040F) : ‘Outlook data file cannot be accessed.’

To anyone who has recognized this question it is because I lost an earlier answer.

1. The Data File I believe is the last one working was : *** Email address is removed for privacy ***(5)

2. Under "Mail Setup - Outlook", "Data Files", there are:

  A. UNCHECKED Name: "*** Email address is removed for privacy *** Location: C;\Users\george\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\george.delmonte.com.pst"

  B. CHECKED Name: C:\Users\george\Documents\Outlook Files\Outlook.pst

3. Under "Mail Setup - Outlook", "E-Mail" CHECKED Name: *** Email address is removed for privacy *** Type: IMAP/SMTP (send from this account by default)

4. I guess the identified Data File [(1.) Above] is the last one working because, after it was given a new extension by a virus finder, Outlook would not Send.

5. If I REMOVE the existing CHECKED Data File (2.B. Above) and Open File Location  (where the Data File in 1. ABOVE) and select the Data File in 1. Above, will that restore Outlook to correct working order? If not, then WHAT should I do?

Please keep it simple. I'm an old guy and my mind's not as complicated as younger minds.

Instant Search in Outlook 2007

$

Here's my starting point.  The first few entries in my Outlook box:

If I enter 'assign' in the instant search box I get this:

But when I enter 5063004 which appears on the 4th line I get this:

I have to type in the whole thing like this inc000005063004:

It appears outlook is only searching for the string if it appears at the beginning of each word instead of appearing anywhere inside.

The issue is I get dozens of these emails daily.  In fact I wrote a rule to shunt these to a special folder so that my real inbox isn't cluttered.  But when I need to look up one of them I know the last 7 digits.  I'd like to be able to not to have type in the redundent leading 8 characters but it doesn't seem to work that way.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Synchronise Email Across Devices

Is there a better way for me to manage my email than the way I currently do it ?

Currently I have Outlook 365 on both my desktop and macbook (windows version in Bootcamped partition running with Parallels) and my iDevices.  I have three email addresses, IMAP and activesync exchange.  I have always liked to keep my email on my local machine (because that's how it worked when I started using email, and because it means you can search you email history offline), so what I do is use only my desktop while I'm home and only my laptop while away, then copy the PST file from one to the other as appropriate. This keeps my email safe in local storage (2 copies plus backup), available and searchable, but not available on the iDevices.

Is there a way to keep local copies of all my email synced with the online counterparts, accessible on iDevices and accessible offline ?

Outlook 2013 calendar won't stop flashing

I've had this problem since I installed it where the calendar screen flashes every 2 or 3 seconds, and I lose anything I'm writing in the calendar at the moment. This is really annoying and making the program practically unusable for me except to check the calendar. I think it might have to do with the calendar syncing changes automatically. I tried searching online but I couldn't find anything useful. I would be very happy indeed if I could get that program working, since I use it a lot.
