Microsoft Outlook 2007

I was using Office 2007 and upgraded to Office 2010. However my old computer did not support 2010 so I reverted back to 2007 after 2-3 days of work on 2010. Though I have reconfigured the outlook.pst file to 2007 and retrieved all my mails but I get the following errors (I have configured 4 emails to Outlook & 1 Hotmail account):

1. When ever I open Microsoft Outlook, I get the error "That the file was created with higher version.. Goto Profiles to create a New Profile.

Is there a way this error message can be rectified. Also, if I create a new profile, how do I import my Emails to this new profile.

2. My emails are not sending. I am able to receive but not send. However, if I change the outgoing servers address from default I am able to send mails from TWO of my accounts. Like change the outgoing Port No. for SMTP worked for 2 accounts. My rules also do not apply. Even though I have created the Rules in Outlook 2007 only. I presume it has some relation to the Error which I have described above.

Request to provide a solution so that my valuable EMails are saved.

Outlook 2013 E-mails downloaded from server

I recently bought a new computer and installed Outlook 2013.  I copied my outlook folders from the old computer.    My settings on the server are to delete after they are downloaded to outlook.  How can I change the setting to retain the mail on my computer and delete it from the server?  Also, what happened to the items previously transferred and then deleted?  Can they be retrieved?

Outlook 2013 - hybrid graphics on laptops

This might be an obscure one but it's what I've found so far and it's giving me a **** of a time.

I have two identical laptops, one newly reloaded, the other using a pre-loaded image. Both running Windows 7 Pro, fully updated with Office 2013 Pro. Also note that all the drivers have been updated as well.  The laptops are running with hybrid graphics cards. Intel and nvidia.

Here's what's going on:

When you load up Outlook 2013, it sits at loading profile forever. I figured it wasn't a big deal, I could just disable hardware acceleration. That got it past loading the profile. Now, however, when you click on a folder in the folder view, it just sits there and loads the folder view forever.

I disabled one of the video cards and re-enabled hardware acceleration to test and it got past loading the profile this time but still had the same issue when changing folders. Disabling hardware acceleration at this point changes nothing with one of the video cards disabled.

All other computers in the office, laptop or desktop running Outlook 2013, function fine connecting to the exchange server. I've reloaded one of the laptops to see if it was an issue with the pre-loaded image but it ran into the same problem. It's only ones running on the hybrid Intel/nVIDIA graphics that have this issue and it makes Outlook completely unusable.

Currently I have the user sticking with webmail until I find another solution. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm completely at a loss.

MS 2013 Outlook Calendar Stopped Printing in Color?

Just recently my calendar has stopped printing in color.  E-Mails still print in color but calendar will not.  I've checked everything I know but can't fix the problem.  Have "rebooted" both PC and printer.  Everything prints in color but the calendar.  And now that I think about it, this may have started since I downloaded Windows 8.1.  I did this just last week and I generally print my calendars out weekly.

Any suggestions.

Outlook 2013 sent item rules not working

Hi all,

I'm trying to save outgoing mails into a different folder from Sent Items, and I can't get the rules to apply consistently. I tried filtering with strings and didn't get anywhere, so I settled on giving the outgoing email a category which the rules look for.

I have disabled automatic saving of sent emails into Sent Mail.

I have two rules, which appear in Rules and Alerts in the following order:

1: Apply this rule after I send the message

assigned to MET category

move a copy to the MET folder

and stop processing more rules

2: Apply this rule after I send the message

move a copy to the Sent Items folder

except if assigned to the MET category

I know the last part of rule 2 shouldn't be necessary, but I added it when things didn't work correctly.

The problem is that emails are being caught by rule 1 AND rule 2, when surely that shouldn't be possible. Emails in the 'MET' category are indeed being copied to the 'MET' folder, but they are also appearing in Sent Items. How is this possible when no more rules should be processed after Rule 1, and I have disabled automatic saving of sent emails? How can I stop it from happening? Thanks.

Outlook 2013 deleting items works differently than in 2007.

I just upgraded from 2007 to 2013 and Outlook seems to work a little differently when deleting items.  I assume this is a setting, so I'm hoping someone can help me out.   When I am in a mailbox ... lets say the Inbox ... and I want to delete a message, when I highlight the message and hit the delete key, I get the warning display message that the message will be permanently deleted.  I assumed that they were sent to the Deleted mailbox, and if I wanted to retrieve one, I could.    But also, in 2007 I didn't receive any warning message when deleting something from an mailbox EXCEPT from the Deleted mailbox.   If I went to the Deleted mailbox and deleted messages, then I did receive the message.

Can I change a setting so I do NOT get the warning message every time I delete a message from other than the Deleted mailbox?

I have recently purchased office 365 and am currently running office 2007 on my windows 8 system. Should I install 365 before I uninstall 2007 or visa versa. Also how do I migrate my mail over to 365.

Office 2013 crashed when opening office attachments in Outlook

Office Professional Plus 2013 on PC running Windows 8.1 Pro

Fresh install of the PC (resorted from Factory State) and fresh install of Office (twice).

When opening a Word, Excel or PPT attachment in Outlook the related Office application crashes with an error "Microsoft Word (or Excel) has stopped working...".

Likewise the previewer also crashes when attempting to preview a document in Outloook.

I can save the attachments elsewhere and open them with no issues.

If I start Outlook in safe mode, all works fine (previewer and opening with office application). Because safe mode worked, I tried turning off addins in Outlook and error still recurs.

In trust center I have disabled all options in Protected View.

Have removed and re-installed Office but error still exists.

Outlook 2013 IMAP - Deleting attachments from Sent messages

Hi all,

I have the above mentioned problem. I configured my IMAP mailbox following my ISP instructions and everything works fine with the following exception. Once I send messages they are automatically moved in the Sent items folder. In order to save the limited IMAP mailbox capacity I would need to delete heavy attachments from Sent items, but once I remove them and save the modified message, they are still present with the original message dimensions.

I always did this operation with my old Outlook 2003 without any problem...

Someone can help? Thanks!

Hotmail to Outlook 2013 Connection

Hi 

I have downloaded Office 2013 over the internet and I am having issues adding Hotmail account to my Outlook 2013.

I have used the manual configuration m.hotmail.com as the server but it still does not allow me to connect.

Then I tried within Outlook to connect but it sat with this message for hours.

Ive had my hotmail since 1998 and I dont want to have to get rid of it now.

Can someone PLEASE help me CONNECT...

Backing up pst file using Outlook back up and restore addin

Hi,

This is a very simple question but one I have not been able to find the answer to anywhere. I use Outlook 2007, Windows 7, 'Backup and restore' addin for backing up my pst file. I usually manually backup every fortnight or so, after prompting. I have two questions actually. Regarding the pst file, do I backup EACH TIME to the SAME file, or (as I have understood backups to be done) create a new folder each time to back up the file to. I've used different dates to name each one. Is this necessary?

I have been letting Outlook auto archive when prompted and then backing up to a separate file each time - is that correct? However, it gives each one the same name, not numbered as it is supposed to. How do I know which is which if I restore?

Outlook 2013 First Name / Last Name Order

All of my contacts (that are connected to outlook.com) appear in last name / first name order. I've gone into FILE > OPTIONS > PEOPLE and the default order is FIRST / LAST but it's not reflected in my PEOPLE section. In OUTLOOK.COM, everyone is listed FIRST / LAST. How do I get the order correct (ie FIRST / LAST) within OUTLOOK on my PC?

I had problems with my computer and had to set everything back to default. In doing so I lost Office 2013. I reinstalled windows 8.1. When I try to reinstall Office 2013 I get this language MAGYAR and I cannot change it to English. I purchased Office Home& Business and have a Product Key. Can someone tell me  how to reinstall my Office 3013 and get the English language?

Cannot send to user within the same domain

I have ONE user, AL@ourdomain (Pop3), who cannot send email to another user ZT@ourdomain (same POP3)

The email, once written, and send is pushed, just sits there.

No error, no info.

The email can be forwarded to any other user, who can then forward it to ZT.

I have yet to see anything in the system that would cause this.

Ideas, thoughts?

Copy email after send to specific folder

Hi,

Is there a way that after each mail i send, the select folder will pop and I could send a copy to a specific folder in my mailbox?

I've checked the Rules and Quick steps but in vain.
